WORKSHOP ON THERAPEUTIC YOGA – Sanam Khan

 



In our relentless pursuit of holistic education, DIET Nagaon recently hosted an enlightening one-day workshop on therapeutic yoga for our esteemed stakeholders. The event, held within the serene confines of our institute, brought together Cluster Resource Centre Coordinators (CRCCs), Resource Persons (RP) of Inclusive Education, and Lab School Teachers. Yoga, an ancient facet of India's cultural legacy, has transcended borders and gained universal acclaim. Recognizing its profound impact on health and well-being, DIET Nagaon took a commendable step in organizing this workshop, aligning with the global celebration of the International Day of Yoga on 21st June each year. Led by the experienced Yoga Instructor, Mr. Anjan Kaushil, the workshop delved into the therapeutic nuances of yoga, shedding light on its preventive properties against lifestyle-related diseases. Attendees were treated to insightful demonstrations by our talented 3rd-semester students, Riya Das and Pooja Moni Borah, who showcased various yoga asanas with a focus on correct postures and techniques. The attendees, comprising of dedicated educators and coordinators, immersed themselves in practical sessions, including meditation exercises aimed at enhancing concentration. The collective energy and enthusiasm in the room were palpable, creating an atmosphere of shared learning and growth. As the curtains fell on the workshop, our participants shared their positive experiences and invaluable feedback. The consensus echoed a desire for more such workshops in the future, underlining the impact that yoga can have on the overall well-being of both students and educators. The success of this workshop is a testament to DIET Nagaon's commitment to fostering a holistic educational environment.

DIET, Nagaon celebrates “International Mathematics Day” and the birth anniversary of great scientist Albert Einstein on the 14th of March 2023 with the guidance of Principal Dr Rita Devi. Baruah College cum the general secretary of Assam Academy of Mathematics (AAM) and Simarekha Bhagawati, Associate professor, Dept. of Mathematics, Morigaon College. An interesting lecture on the number Pi, was delivered by Dr. Jnanyyoti Sarma to highlight the day's significance. Whereas Simarekha Bhagawati delivered a motivational speech to the trainees of the institution. The trainees presented speeches on various topics of mathematics and science using audio visuals. The faculty members of the institute have encouraged the trainees to create scientific mentality through their speech.

NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY OBSERVATION – Rupjyoti Borah

In 1986, the National Council for Science and Technology Communication asked the Government of India to designate 28 th February as National Science Day which then Govt. of India accepted as National Science Day in 1986. The National Science Day celebrated every year in India since February 28 th , 1987, to commemorate discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’, which led Sir C.V Raman wining the Nobel Prize. On the occasion of National Science Day 2023, themed as ‘Global Science for Global wellbeing’, DIET Nagaon organised a Science Fair among the school students. The programme started with a science day speech by Dr Rita Devi, Principal, DIET, Nagaon. Then, the invited guest Dr Hrishikesh Talukdar, Assistant Professor of ADP College, Nagaon was felicitated by principal of DIET. The invited guest offers a motivational speech to the participants.
